Last Sunday I was invited as part of a group from the Royal City Quilters Guild, to participate in this event honoring Volunteering in Guelph. Represented were organizations I had been unaware of, who quietly do what they can to aid others in need.
Our group supplies quilts to our local hospital as physical comfort for victims of child sexual abuse and for parents who lose their newborns and young children.
While both these events are usually hidden from view, I draw some quiet satisfaction as I'm designing and quilting, hoping my small effort will provide some comfort and a tangible knowledge that people do care what happens to others.
