3 Otters - Final

How do you recognize a zombie?    He has no eye spots.
What a difference a little dab of paint makes.

Some whiskers, a little contour on the logs and some insect chewing on the surface.
Done

There was a little bit of wow I couldn't massage away so I ran lines of heavy thread up the interior of the binding. That did the trick.

Otters - I need one more day.

It's all assembled but there is some thread sketching that still needs to happen and 5000 threads to cut.
I still have 3 days. 😉

and binding and hanging sleeve. I know.
And a house to clean and a turkey to thaw...........EASY.
Shopping. Gotta fit that in.

3 Days to Otterville

This IS a Christmas present so I guess I'm running out of time.
I decided to add marsh grasses and snow. That places these little guys where they belong.
A rough cutout of a golden material will serve as the base for the grasses.

Batting and backing went on and then I spent a good 4+ hours stitching this down.
Lines of stitching are 1/4 apart. I used 3 shades of blue, matching the thread to the fabric as close as possible.

The end result is a softening of the transitions of colour in the fabric.

Today I Put my Feet Up.

After driving through the fog and the rain last night, I had a wonderful evening with the ladies of the Dufferin Piecemakers Quilting Guild.
It doesn't matter that when I realized I had left my purse behind at home, (phone, money, license), I missed my turn and ended up miles out of my way. A very nice young man drove out of his way to get me back on track, and I was able to confirm my route with the young policeman manning the RIDE post out in the middle of nowhere. 😊
Gotta love the people in this country of mine.
The ladies were so welcoming and certainly had lots of great questions.
Our workshop, a month from now is going to be packed with eager sewers wanting to tweak their own beautiful work and learn some new techniques.
