Walk in the Woods - Final

The detailing is done and the extra leaves are all in place.

Now it needs to be quilted.

Lightly I'm thinking. Motifs would probably be overwhelmed.

Walk in the Woods - Detailing

It's a much faster process to design and assemble an art piece than it is to finish it.

It this case, as it's a functional quilt, every raw edge needs to be addressed. This was probably the reason for my hesitancy to use this method at the beginning.

So, off and on I've been overcasting edges for 6 days ? now. All the background that went together so easily with fusible web or glue....... needs to be finished, this all before I add more finishing pieces, leaves etc.

Probably close to another 5 days before this flimsy is complete.

All that remains (HA) is to stitch down everybody and add some detail. That may take a few days.

 

Walk in the Woods - the Other Corner.

This is at the point now that all the last items need to be cut, ready and tested in place before ANYTHING gets fused or sewn. Leaves that slip underneath the last 3 trees, leaves that overlap, Ferns that slip off the edge. And the final pieces of the black 'border'.

Its a case of having lots choices ........so I cover them all.
